We received several quotes from different loft conversion companies, but we decided to go with Total Loft Conversions after meeting Jim and viewing some of his previous projects in person. Meeting past clients and seeing their completed lofts really put our minds at ease. Jim also provided a detailed contract that clearly outlined the payment schedule and the stages at which building control inspections would take place.
Any issues that arose during the build were resolved promptly. Jim was always quick to respond whenever we had questions or concerns. His team also made some excellent suggestions to enhance the project as it progressed, such as enlarging the Juliet balcony and adding an extra window in the master bedroom. They went above and beyond to maximise the floorspace in the en-suite bathroom.
We were so impressed with the quality of the work that we decided to undertake additional home improvements, including modernising our staircase, adding under-stair storage, and replacing all the existing guttering and exterior fascias.
We now have a beautiful new master bedroom, en-suite, and study. The conversion has added an impressive 32 sqm to our home, perfect for our growing family. The project was completed on time and within the quoted budget. We couldn’t be happier with the result and will definitely use Jim for future projects.

I had a 3 bed semi loft conversion with 1 bedroom and ensuite built out which included a new roof and solar.
I spoke to Jim in February, got a competitive quote back quickly and we agreed a slot in late April for a start. In fact Jim was able to provide an earlier slot which suited us.
Jim estimated 8 weeks to do the job and at the end of 8 weeks we had an amazing space created and to budget.
Dan/Jake lead the way onsite for the build. All the teams were constantly onsite - on a bank holiday they asked it they could work (I checked with my neighbours as well!) and I had 8 people onsite working. The day we needed the plumbers they all turned up in force, the electricians came as well as 2nd fitters and roofers there was no delays in the build Jim kept everything running to schedule.
As part of the conversion we had the entire roof replaced I recommend this if like us you have an older roof in poor condition. Having a new roof makes a significant improvement in the look when the build is completed and gives peace of mind for the future...
We worked with Jim on some changes to the beams (we had a third party design) that increased the space we could use and minor changes to the windows and the bathroom layout.
Jim also helped get all the building certs and inspections done and worked with our structural engineer to get the solar installed.
The project was done on budget and the only extra minor cost came when we changed our windows from the plan which Jim did a good job in helping get done.
Overall this has been a very successful project we have created an amazing space we really enjoy living in and freed up more space downstairs for our family...

Had Jim and the guys come to do my bungalow loft conversion End of 2024.
We had a face to face meeting and discussed the ideas I had. He had plenty of suggestions too and quotes were sent within a few days.
After comparing various quotes we setteled on TLC. The team were on site (on time !!!) and got right to work.
The time scales set out were pretty much bang on and I had a few conversations for the progress. I even asked to make a few alterations along the way and nothing was to much.
After a few months things were done. There were a few teething issues and some hickups along the way but Jim had them sorted right away.
Im now left with a 4 bed converted bungalow, new landing and a lovely enterance space. The transformation was amazing.
I still have contact with Jim and plan to use them in the future for a new balcony :)

We had a large rear dormer conversion built by TLC. They took care of everything from start to finish and made our loft conversion extremely stress free. Any issues that came up Jim solved quickly and came up with options which worked really well. They kept to the timing laid out initially and the result is beautiful. In addition there was very little internal mess as most of it was external until the very last moment when they cut through for the stairs. This makes it easy to live whilst the work is going on. They managed to continue on our existing staircase so it flows beautifully. They also took care of all the building control submissions. I am so glad I went with a specialist as it made the whole process stress free. Can't recommend enough
